The mission and ministry of City Church of Mobile is to change our city through our four pillars...Worship, Word, Waiting, and Witnessing.
Worship
We desire to be a church that worships the Father in Spirit and in Truth. This worship must be expressed both individually by our members, and corporately as we gather for our weekly services. We believe that the presence of God is absolutely essential if we are to be transformed inwardly so that we can live His life outwardly. Without His presence with us, we cannot fulfill our mission as His church. We believe that worship goes beyond musical styles and trends, and we seek to create an atmosphere of worship so believers and non-believers, young and old, mature believers and new believers can all encounter His presence and be forever changed!
Word
His Word is our foundation and the standard by which we measure all that we do, say, and believe. The Word of God is preached boldly and without compromise every time we gather. The more we hide God's word in our hearts, the more answers we have for those that are desperately seeking for hope. We want to be ready to freely share this Word with others and bring the life that the Word brings to us.
Waiting
There's a lot of noise all around us. Work, family pressures, busy schedules, and a smartphone in our pocket sometimes makes it difficult to hear God. We all want to be obedient to His call and to His Word, but unless we take some time with Him through prayer and worship, we'll never be able to hear His voice. At City Church, we don't skip out on corporate times of prayer and worship. In fact, we think it is vital to Kingdom success. It's important that we take the time to wait on him both individually and corporately as a body. Our desire is that all people will learn the joy of waiting in His presence, hearing His voice, and walking out His destiny in their lives.
Witnessing
Matthew 28:19 tells us to "...go and make disciples of all nations.." We take this scripture literally and have made it a primary focus of our church life. We desire not to simply build our church internally, but to transform our city for the cause of Christ. We can't do this if we're not out there touching people on a regular basis with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Each quarter, each of our small groups organizes an outreach, and each year we do several church-wide outreach events. Broken lives impacted by the love of Jesus... People healed and set free from addiction, depression, and fear... Lives radically transformed by the power of God. That's what we're all about.
